Okay, we get it - there are like, a lot of reasons to work out. Between slowing your resting heart rate to improving your cardio and muscle strength, working out can definitely do some good things for your body. That being said, I'm not planning on being America's Next Top Model or a bodybuilder. I have no desire to run a 5k, and I'm not into sports at all. So why should I work out?
Look, I hear you loud and clear. For a long time, I knew about the benefits of exercise, at some points I even had the intention of working out (until my uncle's sister's neighbor's cousin's fish died. Who could go for a run after hearing such tragic news??) In all honesty, I literally did not care. I had no reason to work out because I didn't believe it would really make a huge impact on the way I live my life. It wasn't until I actually started working out that I realized how wrong I was this whole time. Here are just 4 of the many ways I found exercising helped my overall quality of life:

Hello There, Bagel Bites: Pretty sure my spirit animal is a raccoon and my theme song is "Just Eat It" by Weird Al. If it is on a plate in front of me, I'm going to eat it. Literally all of it. Donuts, big macs, hot dogs, and yes, those glorious bagel bites. If you're like me and LIVE for food, you are in for a treat my friend. Studies have shown that food actually tastes better up to 24 hours after you work out. I know this sounds like some weird voodoo spell that can't be true, but I have tasted the pizza and THE PROPHECY IS TRUE. We don't quite understand it, but working out does something to the reward centers in our brain that makes food taste even better. Don't Worry, Be Happy: I know, I laughed at this one too. Pretty sure when I'm working out, I'm not sweating... my body is crying. As much as this may be hard to believe, really smart scientists (way smarter than me) seem to think it does a lot for us. Honestly, I have to say, this is probably one of the best reasons to work out. Studies show that when you exercise, it increases multiple "feel good" chemicals in the brain such as endorphins, adrenaline, and endocannabinoids, These chemicals alone would have you feeling happy, less anxiety, confident, and even less physical pain. What's really amazing though is that it also produces this chemical called myokine, which is only created by your muscles contracting (so, good cake can't release this). What's really amazing about this chemical is that it doesn't make you feel good in the moment, but actually increases your stress tolerance. This chemical can help people reduce, or even cure depression. If you don't have depression, it can even make your boss' 12th dad joke a bit more tolerable.
You'll Have Better... A'hem: Okay, yes. Working out does make you arguably more attractive if you keep at it. (Get that perfect peach, girl!) (The benefits were similar in men, but come on, is there anything that doesn't get them going?) Let's not even talk about the improved stamina and flexibility that comes with working out.
